One of the last big movies in the MCU’s Phase Five, Captain America: Brave New World is currently slated for release on February 14, 2025. Anthony Mackie will be the new Captain America in the movie, taking over for Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers from the earlier films, but it seems that the movie will provide us with more surprises in that aspect.

Although fans are obviously glad to see Sam Wilson climb up the Marvel hierarchy, there are many of those who still desire Chris Evans. Much like the other big Marvel heroes, they cannot picture anybody else playing their beloved superhero. This is why the movie has a very difficult starting point.

On top of that, the production has been plagued by many issues, with there being reshoots and rewrites that changed the movie significantly, as it seems. The movie is not far from being released, and according to World of Reel, the initial test screening for the movie was quite disappointing.

Many characters, both new and old, will appear in Captain America: Brave New World, as the movie is set to have a very complex and wide plot. In addition to the return of a number of beloved characters from The Incredible Hulk, including Thaddeus Ross becoming the Red Hulk, we will also witness the creation of the Serpent Society, whose leader, Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, will be portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito.

The controversial Sabra will also be featured in the movie.

The fans are unsure what to think of this movie and fear that the movie will flop. They have been following this movie almost since it was announced. Marvel is now conducting test screenings, and according to a report from World of Reel, it’s not looking good:

Two different cuts of the film test screened last week, and plot details for one of the cuts have leaked online. The person who attended didn’t seem to like the movie all that much.

Based on the folks I’ve spoken to, those who attended were either given a red or green bracelet and were split up into two different theaters. The reactions I’ve heard have not been very kind to this movie, which is being described as “inessential” and “flat.”

Now, to be frank, there is no way to confirm that this is true or not, so do take this report with a grain of salt, as we have no way of contacting these “people,” but taking everything into account, such a result wouldn’t really surprise us. We just hope that the reports are a bit exaggerated and that the movie will not completely flop next year.
