Marvel Comics recently stirred the pot by announcing a brand-new Spider-Girl, setting the stage for mixed reactions online. This new character will make her first appearance in the upcoming ‘Spider-Boy #12‘, which is penned by Dan Slott and illustrated by Paco Medina.
The introduction of this Spider-Girl has divided fans, primarily because it wasn’t what some were expecting. Instead of bringing back the beloved Mayday Parker—Peter and Mary Jane’s daughter who becomes Spider-Girl in a well-known storyline—Marvel chose to go with an entirely new character. This choice has left some fans feeling that the move is a bit desperate.
The preview provided to ComicBook confirmed that Spider-Girl will debut in an exciting twist. The scene starts with Daredevil and Spider-Boy battling Bullseye and an unknown attacker, who throws spider-tracers. The attacker is revealed to be the new Spider-Girl, hinting that she might be playing an antagonistic role, at least initially.
The real identity of this new Spider-Girl is still shrouded in mystery, adding an element of suspense and speculation about her true intentions and backstory.
Designer and artist Michael Cho brought this character to life, and it looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of her after her debut. With the issue set to hit the shelves on October 12, fans won’t have to wait long to meet her.
In other Marvel news, a new lineup for the Guardians of the Galaxy team has been unveiled, suggesting possible new directions for the MCU now that James Gunn’s film trilogy has concluded. It’s exciting to think about how these comic book developments might influence future movies.
Whether you’re thrilled or skeptical, keep an eye out for ‘Spider-Boy #12’ to see for yourself how this new character shakes up the Spider-Verse.
