Football fans were stunned to learn that a popular NFL owner has purchased an extremely rare Tom Brady rookie card for six figures.

24 years ago, nobody could have predicted that Tom Brady would soon begin the most decorated and accomplished career in NFL history. Alas, the 2000 sixth-round pick is the consensus GOAT (greatest of all time) in football, with seven Super Bowl rings, three MVPs and every major passing record on his resume.

Per Travis Anderson of The Boston Globe, Patriots owner Robert Kraft purchased a rare autographed Brady rookie card for a whopping $120,000. The legendary Patriots quarterback was also in attendance during the auction.

And social media had all sorts of interesting reactions upon learning that Mr. Kraft pocketed himself a six-figure Tom Brady rookie card:

Forbes lists Kraft’s net worth at $11.8 billion, so his bank account won’t see the slightest dent after paying $120,000 for a Brady rookie card. With all that money, perhaps Mr. Kraft will add to his library and purchase more TB12 sports cards and memorabilia.

Brady spent his first 20 seasons with the Patriots (2000 to 2019). He led them to nine AFC Championships and six Super Bowl banners during his 19 seasons as their starting quarterback, and they never finished with a losing season in that period.

After leaving the Patriots in 2020 free agency, Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He spent his final three seasons there, leading them to a Super Bowl 55 championship in the 2020 season.

Tom Brady Returns To Tampa Bay On Sunday

Brady will return to Raymond James Stadium this Sunday, when he and Kevin Burkhardt call the Buccaneers’ home game against the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be Brady’s first non-Dallas Cowboys game as a FOX NFL analyst, having called their first three games to begin his new career.
