There’s a new rumor floating around that the next Spider-Man movie, possibly starring Tom Holland, might have a pretty wild title: Spider-Man: King in Black. While we should take this with a grain of salt, it’s got us thinking about how this could tie into the larger Marvel universe, especially with Venom and the introduction of Knull.
Knull, for those unfamiliar, is a major villain in the comics. He’s known as the god of the symbiotes, the creatures that make up Venom. The title ‘King in Black’ directly connects to Knull’s story arc, which involves him trying to take over the universe. If this rumor ends up being true, we might see Knull crossing paths with Spider-Man on the big screen for the first time.
Reports that the name Spider-Man: King in Black came from @Cryptic4KQual on X, and while it’s still just a rumor, it’s definitely worth considering. If Knull does end up being a central figure, we could be in for a darker, more intense Spider-Man movie than we’ve seen before.

What’s even more interesting is how this could all link to Venom 3. There’s been talk that Knull could be introduced in that movie, and if that’s the case, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to imagine a crossover between Venom and Spider-Man. After all, the two characters share a lot of history in the comics, and with the multiverse opening up, anything seems possible.
