Superheroes and other comic book characters typically deal a lot of damage when they battle. Of course, the superheroes don’t mean for this to happen, but whether they like it or not, damage and casualties do happen. However, there are instances when heroes intentionally kill because it is the only way to defeat their enemies and achieve victory.
Superheroes like Batman or Superman may embrace a “no-kill” policy, but this is an exception rather than a rule. Whether they are monsters, extraterrestrials, or other enemies, superheroes typically don’t hesitate to kill them.
In light of that, we are going to talk about the kill count of a very interesting and very important Marvel character – Loki.
Loki has always been on the border between being a hero and a villain, changing allegiances several times, but the standalone series proved that he was not intrinsically evil, which is definitely important for his overall characterization, and that is why we have decided to analyze his kill count in the MCU.
The source for the data we have for you is a list from IMDb, composed by user Creedswede, who made an effort to chronicle the kill count of all major and minor MCU characters, with several important notes. Based on the data he has presented, Loki’s kill count is as follows:
- Thor – 18
- The Avengers – 25
- Thor: The Dark World – 5
- Thor: Ragnarok – 14
- Total kills: 62+
Aside from this, he made appearances in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow, Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as well as Loki and What If…?, but he did not kill anyone in those works, so we don’t have anything to add in that aspect.
This means, as we can conclude, that Loki has killed at least 62 people in the MCU, which makes him a mid-tier character in that aspect.
He has killed, but a lot of his killings were actually enemies and NPCs, which shouldn’t be surprising since Loki did appear as a villain in several movies, when considering this fact, which is certainly relevant, Loki is not that horrible.
In fact, there are some heroes in the MCU with a significantly higher kill count than Loki, so there’s that.
As for his future, Loki is supposed to have a major role in the upcoming Avenger: Doomsday movie, but we don’t know if that will, ultimately, influence his kill count or not. Be that as it may, Loki is really not such a bad guy and the numbers confirm it.
These numbers have been updated as of Deadpool & Wolverine, where Loki did not appear, so we can assume that they are accurate.
