When most of us think of Marvel, we often picture the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the real magic begins in Marvel Comics, where all the epic stories originate.
If you’re looking for a fresh and exciting read, Ultimate Black Panther is worth diving into. Especially now, since the series has thrown us a major curveball. In Ultimate Black Panther #9, we finally meet the Sorcerer Supreme, but here’s the kicker—it’s not Doctor Strange.
This part of the story follows Killmonger and Storm as they hunt for the mysterious Sorcerer Supreme. Their search takes them to a fortress in Eastern Europe. Not exactly a cozy spot, as the place is run by a pretty sinister torture doctor. Things get creepy fast, and you can’t help but feel that something’s about to go wrong.
Killmonger and Storm are right to be on edge. The Sorcerer Supreme they’re looking for? Yeah, they’re no damsel in distress. In fact, when they finally come face-to-face, the supposed Sorcerer gives them a pretty chilling welcome, laughing as if they’ve already lost.
The big reveal comes when the Sorcerer steps out of the shadows, with a man being used as a puppet. The guy clearly isn’t having a great time. But that’s not the real shocker. The one pulling the strings is a woman with short black hair, her mouth covered by a muzzle. It’s not Doctor Strange—it’s Clea, his wife.
Now, Clea’s usually seen with blonde hair, but Marvel loves to play around with how their characters look. The muzzle hints that whoever has her doesn’t want her speaking, probably because her voice is dangerous. We already know Clea’s from the Dark Dimension and happens to be Dormammu’s niece, which makes her darker introduction make sense.
So far, we’re left hanging with more questions than answers. How did Clea end up here, and what does it mean for the rest of the story? To find out, we’ll have to wait until Ultimate Black Panther #10 comes out on November 27.
