In his recent October AMA, Alex Perez discussed the film’s development and offered insights into Peter Parker’s future in the MCU.
Fans were eager for updates on “Spider-Man 4,” including casting news, filming dates, and the potential return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. While Alex shared that he has some information, he did not provide specific updates on those fronts.
He mentioned that Tom Holland is likely to don the symbiote suit within the next few years and could retain it for future Spider-Man films. As for Tobey and Andrew, Perez pointed out a strong possibility for their extended roles, particularly given the context of the Multiverse Saga.
When asked about the balance of street-level elements versus multiverse themes in “Spider-Man 4,” Perez noted that, although set in New York City, the film is increasingly adopting a cosmic tone rather than focusing solely on street-level aspects.
What Perez suggests aligns with existing rumors that “Spider-Man 4” was initially expected to focus on a street-level narrative. However, everything changed when it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. would reprise his role as Iron Man to portray the next major villain in the MCU—Doctor Doom.
This development shifted the storyline towards a multiversal theme. The rumor regarding the symbiote suit also supports speculation about a crossover involving Hardy’s Venom, Carnage, and Knull entering the MCU.
