Marvel Studios is stirring the pot with its latest plans for the future, leading to some discontent among its fanbase. The dynamic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is evolving, particularly as we head into Phase 6, and not everyone is pleased with the direction things are taking.
A key point of contention is the changing dynamics between iconic characters Doctor Doom and Reed Richards. Traditionally, these two have had a significant relationship in the comics, but the latest reports suggest this won’t be the case moving forward.
It’s been said that their interaction will mirror that between Tony Stark and Thanos, which is a far cry from their classic comic book encounters.
This new angle has not been well-received, to say the least. Fans are expressing their disappointment, with some even jokingly saying they’re ready to ‘flip.’ It seems the familiarity and depth of the Doom-Richards relationship, as comic readers know it, is being set aside.
What’s clear is that Marvel is taking some bold steps with its characters. Whether these changes will pay off or backfire remains to be seen.
