One of the most beloved former Avengers, Scarlet Witch has captured fans’ attention thanks to her incredible character arc, which took a tragic turn. From villain to hero and back to villain, her MCU journey seemed to end in a self-sacrificial moment.

However, few believe her story is truly over—after all, it takes far more than a collapsing temple to take down one of the most powerful magic wielders in the Marvel Universe.

For the past two years, fans have been speculating about Scarlet Witch’s potential return to the MCU. Many believed she might reappear in Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (formerly titled Agatha: House of Harkness), especially since her reincarnated son, Wiccan, is a key character.

Another possibility is the upcoming Vision Quest series, which will bring back White Vision and Ultron and has been confirmed as part of a trilogy with WandaVision and Agatha.

While the possibilities are endless, the latest rumors are truly shocking. According to notable leaker MyTimeToShineHello, Scarlet Witch is set to be a central figure in both upcoming Avengers films.

Even more surprising is the claim that she’ll have a romantic connection with RDJ’s version of Doctor Doom.

Though this sounds like a stretch—especially since Downey’s Doom variant isn’t part of the main MCU timeline—there is comic precedent for a complex relationship between Scarlet Witch and Doom.

However, their interactions in the comics were never romantic in the traditional sense.

In Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, Doctor Doom plays a pivotal role in Wanda’s storyline. The Young Avengers, led by Wanda’s son Wiccan, search for her after the events of House of M, where she had wiped out most of the mutant population.

Doom helps Wanda recover her memories and powers, and it’s hinted that he harbors a manipulative interest in her.

At one point, it’s revealed that Wanda and Doom are working together, with Doom claiming to have romantic feelings for her. However, this was more about his personal ambitions than any genuine connection.

Their brief alliance leads to Doom attempting to harness Wanda’s powers for his own gain, which causes disastrous consequences, as his thirst for power creates even more chaos.

Given the introduction of Wiccan in the MCU, there’s been speculation that The Children’s Crusade could eventually be adapted.

Plus, with Doctor Doom needing a significant power boost to set up Secret Wars and create Battleworld, it’s possible Wanda could fill the role of a power source similar to the Beyonder from the comics. In that sense, she might serve as a stand-in for the Beyonder’s immense power, which Doom famously used to reshape reality.

It’s certainly an intriguing theory, and it’s easy to see how it could be woven into the MCU. However, for it to work, we’d likely need at least one project dedicated to exploring the backstory between Doom and Wanda, beyond just The Children’s Crusade.
