Henry Cavill’s career seems to be in a bit of flux at the moment. After losing his Superman role when James Gunn took over the DCU, Cavill also exited The Witcher following what appeared to be a promised return to the iconic superhero. Despite these setbacks, he’s still involved in several high-profile projects.

Cavill is set to star in the upcoming Voltron movie, the Highlander reboot, and is also spearheading the development of a Warhammer 40K adaptation—though some reports suggest that the latter project may be facing challenges.

Cavill’s most recent appearance was in Deadpool & Wolverine, where he played one of the Wolverine variants. Now, a somewhat reliable scooper, MyTimeToShineHello, has claimed that Cavill is in talks with Marvel for a larger role in the MCU.

This isn’t entirely surprising—nearly a year ago, rumors suggested Cavill would have a small cameo as a Wolverine variant, but that doesn’t rule out the possibility of him landing a bigger part down the line.

When it comes to potential roles, Wolverine seems like a natural fit. With the upcoming X-Men reboot, Cavill could take on the mantle of the MCU’s main Wolverine following the Secret Wars reboot.

However, some reports suggest that Wolverine might not be included in the X-Men reboot for now, as Marvel may be holding onto Hugh Jackman for the time being.

Another potential role for Cavill in the MCU is Cyclops. He’s frequently fan-cast as the iconic X-Men leader, and with Cyclops confirmed to be part of the rumored X-Men reboot, Cavill seems like a perfect fit for the role.

Cavill has also long been associated with the character of Captain Britain, aka Brian Braddock. The actor himself has expressed interest in portraying the British superhero, even before his cameo as a Wolverine variant in the MCU.

After losing the role of Superman, Cavill might be drawn to a similar character in the MCU—Hyperion. Though there are no official rumors suggesting Hyperion’s inclusion, fans often imagine Cavill in the role of Marvel’s answer to Superman.

A more likely possibility, however, is Cavill playing the Beyonder. While not yet mentioned in rumors, the upcoming Secret Wars storyline could introduce this cosmic character, and fans would be excited to see Cavill take on such a powerful role.

Regardless of which part he eventually lands, fans are eager to see Cavill join the MCU in a more permanent capacity.
