IDW recently relaunched their flagship Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic with a star-studded creative team, including new series writer Jason Aaron and a rotating team of artists. Now IGN can exclusively reveal the series' new regular artist. Juan Ferreyra (Spine-Tingling Spider-Man) will join Aaron on the series beginning with January's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6.
Additionally, Jorge Fornés (Rorschach) will make his debut as the series' new regular cover artist with issue #6. Check out the slideshow gallery below for a closer look at Ferreyra's upcoming artwork:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6: Exclusive Preview Gallery
TMNT #6 serves as a fresh jumping-on point for the series. While the early issues have seen the Turtles scattered across the world and undergoing their own individual struggles, issue #6 will bring them back together in their old stomping ground of New York. And it's a good thing they're back together, because they're being hunted by a mysterious new enemy.
“Getting to be the artist in TMNT makes me super happy and excited on so many levels," Ferreyra tells IGN. "The first one is exciting for the little Juan that lives in me. I was a big Turtle fan when I was 11-12 years old, I used to draw them all the time. In fact, when I told one of my best friends that I was going to draw the TMNT comic next, he told me that one of his first memories of me drawing was when he saw me drawing the Turtles and how amazed he was at how I was able to draw them so accurately."
Ferreyra continues, "The other level is the grown-up Juan and the opportunity that I have to give my take on TMNT for a full arc and working with one of my all-time favorite writers. Working with Jason for a full arc on anything would’ve been a dream come true, so when they told me Jason would be writing it I had one of the biggest smiles I’ve had in a long time. The most amazing thing is that all of that was before I started drawing anything, and now that I’m halfway through the first issue I can tell that it is way more satisfying and fun than what I could have ever anticipated!”
“The first arc of this new TMNT series featured issues that focused on the individual brothers in different situations, different spots around the globe, gradually bringing them back together to face a new villain who’s taken root in New York City," Aaron says. "With issue #6, that all comes to a head, as the Ninja Turtles are back together and finally make their return to New York, only to find that much has changed in the city they used to call home. With this issue, the real story begins, so I’m super excited to have the great Juan Ferreyra coming on board not just for this issue but for the long haul, as the Turtles get ready to face their next great challenge."

TMNT fans seem to be responding well to the relaunched series so far. According to IDW, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 sold over 300,000 copies, beating out even the 250,000 in sales reported by DC for the recently released Absolute Batman #1.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6 will be released on January 29, 2025.
