Jada Pinkett isn’t mad at Will Smith but wishes her husband hadn’t hit Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Oscars, his career wouldn’t be this bad

Jada Pinkett is not angry with Will Smith but wishes her husband would not have hit Chris Rock on stage at the 2022 Oscars.

On April 4, a source close to the couple told US Weekly: “It was a heated moment and Will Smith overreacted. They understand that. Jada Pinkett is not the type of woman who needs someone to protect her. Will Smith does not need to act like that. She is a strong woman, has her own opinions and can handle her own affairs. However, Jada always stands by her husband. She is not angry with Will Smith but wishes he would not have acted so violently.”

The noise between the family of Will Smith – the actor who won the Best Actor award – and Chris Rock became the most interested topic of the 2022 Oscars. He went on stage to hit the comedian for joking about his wife’s bald head. After the event, phrases related to the incident trended on social networks. Will Smith apologized to his colleagues on his personal page and withdrew from the Academy. Chris Rock’s side refused to accuse the actor of assault.

Will Smith’s career was affected after the awards ceremony. Some producers said they would stop working with him. Recently, two of Smith’s projects Fast and Loose and Bad Boys 4 were postponed for unknown reasons. According to the Hollywood Reporter, some of the actor’s other projects may also have to change plans after the noise.

After the incident, Jada Pinkett did not directly speak out. She posted a status on her personal page: “This is a time for healing and I am here for it.” Earlier this year, Pinkett wrote about her alopecia areata on social media. The actress said she has been thinking more positively about the disease. She also plans to make a crown of gemstones to decorate her head.

Will Smith is supportive of his wife’s decision to shave her head. “He loves my new haircut. I’m so glad I did it. I feel more connected to myself. After shaving my head, I no longer worry and worry about the disease,” Pinkett said on the Red Table Talk show in September 2021.
