The US Attorney’s Office said there is no evidence of a third assassination attempt on the former president’s life
There is no evidence that there was a third assassination attempt on Donald Trump’s life at a rally in California, according to federal officials.
The US Attorney’s Office said there is no evidence that an arrest before the rally in Coachella, California, on Saturday evening was linked to an assassination attempt. Vem Miller, 49, from Las Vegas, was found with a shotgun, loaded handgun, ammunition and several fake passports at a security checkpoint outside the rally.
He was released the same day on $5,000 bail. Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco said police “probably thwarted a potential third assassination attempt” on the former president.
However, the US Attorney’s office said Trump was not in any danger and there is no evidence that there was an attempt on his life.
“The US Secret Service assesses that the incident did not impact protective operations and former President Trump was not in any danger,” the US Attorney’s Office said in a statement. “While no federal arrest has been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing.”

Trump’s campaign has not commented on the incident. Last month, Ryan Routh, 58, from Hawaii, was indicted on an attempted assassination charge after authorities said he staked out the former president for 12 hours and wrote of his desire to kill him.

It came two months after Trump was shot and wounded in the ear in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Pennsylvania, was shot dead by snipers after opening fire at the rally.
