In the Marvel universe, Spider-Man is one of the top street-level heroes, known for his adventures beyond just his local neighborhood. But interestingly, Florence Pugh thinks her character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could defeat Spider-Man, despite Andrew Garfield, who plays Spider-Man, disagreeing with her.

During a conversation on LADbible TV, Pugh argued that Yelena could outfight Spider-Man, leveraging Peter Parker’s inherent kindness. Garfield countered, pointing out Spider-Man’s superior abilities. Yet, Yelena winning isn’t entirely out of the question under specific circumstances, but generally, she isn’t as powerful.

Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of Black Widow, however, presents a more compelling case. In a notable comic book episode, Amazing Spider-Man #86 by Stan Lee and John Romita Jr, Natasha manages to defeat Spider-Man.

It’s worth noting, Spider-Man was losing his powers at that time, but it was still a significant win for Black Widow, proving her prowess before she chose to end the fight.

As for Andrew Garfield, the actor remains open to reprising his role as Peter Parker. He mentioned the endless possibilities for stories about his character, emphasizing the potential despite no confirmed plans.

Fans of both actors have more to look forward to beyond superhero films. Pugh and Garfield star together in ‘We Live in Time,’ which has already received excellent early reviews. While it remains to be seen if their characters will meet in the MCU, their off-screen collaboration is generating excitement.

So, as Pugh returns as Yelena in ‘Thunderbolts’ set for release in 2025, the possibility of a cinematic showdown with Spider-Man lingers, promising an intriguing mix of actor dynamics and character arcs.
