A few months ago, rumors surfaced that Marvel Studios was working on a ‘Midnight Sons’ project, said to be linked to the upcoming ‘Blade’ reboot. While the studio has yet to officially confirm the project, there has been a consistent flow of updates surrounding it.
The most recent report suggested that ‘Logan’ writer Michael Green had been brought on to write the script, though this information has not been confirmed by any official sources.
A few months ago, an alleged leak revealed the potential roster for the MCU’s ‘Midnight Sons.’ The core lineup is expected to include Wong, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf by Night, and Man-Thing. Other possible members, ranging from most to least likely, include Black Knight, Scarlet Scarab, Elsa Bloodstone, Doctor Strange, and even Agatha Harkness. The team is rumored to consist of 6 to 9 members.
According to the latest rumor from insider Daniel Richtman, Marvel Studios is now accelerating development on the film, with the search for a director currently underway.
All of this follows recent news that the ‘Blade’ reboot has been put on hold indefinitely. Several weeks ago, we reported that the studio would soon make a decision about the project’s future, and unfortunately, that decision has brought bad news.
Yesterday, the ‘Blade’ reboot was officially removed from the 2025 release schedule, after having already faced multiple delays, with several changes in writers and directors.
Some insiders suggest that Mahershala Ali may be at the center of the ongoing issues, while others point to a weak script and story as the cause.
If the ‘Midnight Sons’ project is indeed in development, it could very well be intended as a replacement for ‘Blade.’
