With the release of Daredevil: Born Again just six months away, excitement for the show is building significantly. The beloved cast is returning, with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio back as Kingpin, Elden Henson returning as Foggy, and Deborah Ann Woll returning as Karen.
After much of the original Born Again content was scrapped in favor of a script that aligns more closely with Netflix’s version, the first scenes from the show have started leaking online following extensive reshoots, and they look incredibly intense.
A Comicodigy account on X recently shared what seems to be footage from Daredevil: Born Again. While we can’t verify if this footage will actually be included in the show, the updated suit featured in the clip matches the earlier set leaks we’ve encountered.
The caption reads, “You can’t tell me this isn’t Daredevil season 4,” suggesting that there is little distinction in tone and violence between the MCU “reboot” and the original series that fans cherished.
Nothing shown in this footage should come as a surprise. Both the cast and showrunners have repeatedly emphasized how dark and gritty the upcoming series will be.
Recently, Brad Winderbaum likened the show to Game of Thrones, describing New York as “intricate and problematic,” with numerous factions vying for power.
Vincent D’Onofrio also expressed his astonishment that some of the scenes they filmed made it into the final cut of the show.
There are some things in this show, that we go much further with than we did on the original show. There’s one thing in particular, that my character does – that I can’t believe made it into the cut.
Action scenes reminiscent of Daredevil’s iconic hallway fight were also teased, with Cox revealing that Bernthal nearly cracked his rib during filming.
Given these comments, it’s clear we can expect a dark and action-packed experience, potentially unlike anything we’ve encountered in the MCU. Do you have anything to add? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
