Your eyes will be glued to the screen if you watch this epic drama – which boasts six seasons
People are only just discovering an epic medical drama with more than 100 episodes.
It feels like in this modern day, you kind of know all the greatest tv shows and movies, and when you finish one you sit there twiddling your thumbs wondering what to watch – do I rewatch The Office for the 20th time?
Or should I give a new series a chance?
Well, if you’re in that predicament right now, I have an intense hospital program with six seasons and 104 episodes in total that might just save you from boredom over the next few weeks or months – depending on how heavy you binge.
It’s called The Resident, and it follows a group of young practising doctors at Chastain Memorial Hospital, a fictional medical facility in Atlanta, Georgia.
While learning the ropes of their newfound careers they discover issues that arise with modern-day medicine, and are helped by a seasoned senior resident of the hospital.
Surprisingly, despite having a huge 7.8 score on iMDB, at the end of its sixth season, Fox announced that the show had been canceled.
But The Resident became an instant hit when it moved to Netflix, and earlier this year it made it into the Top 10 TV Shows in the US.
New fans of the show have been sharing their praise for the series after it arrived on Netflix, with viewers urging other users to add it to their lists.
“I cried more times than I’d like to admit,” one user commented on the Facebook group ‘Netflix Bangers’.
Another simply wrote: “Brilliant, so addictive.”
With a third piping up: “Just almost finished l loved then hated then loved it couldn’t stop watching !”
But not every season is available on the streaming platform, which one user reminded fans.
They wrote: “I’m watching it again. Not all of it’s on Netflix, there’s another season on Disney.”
If someone does decide to pick the show up again, it will certainly start off with a strong audience base.
“Even tho Google says there won’t be a season 7 – we need one, please writers pick up ur pens and create !!!”, urged one fan.
A second stated: “Totally binged season 1 & 2 need more TV time to myself lol xx.”
While a third penned: “Right, I never wanted to watch that show back in the day. Finally started on Netflix a few months ago and blew through every season. My favorite hospital show.”
Will we see season seven of The Resident?
