Meghan Markle has earned accolades for a crucial shift in her fashion picks that could be a boost for several businesses. Celebrity stylist Martine Alexander spoke to the Daily Mail, commending the 43-year-old duchess for adopting the current oversized and relaxed clothing trend.
Yet Meghan’s wardrobe isn’t just filled with pieces from popular brands; she’s intentionally incorporating styles from lesser-known businesses, providing them with the kind of exposure that can turn them into successful enterprises. “I love that she is wearing under-the-radar brands,” Alexander remarked.
She voiced her passion for spotlighting small-scale businesses, stating, “One of the things that I adore doing is giving small businesses the exposure they deserve.”
She also mentioned the fulfilling experience for all parties involved when a business gets a promotion from such exposure: “It’s so rewarding for the stylist, the client, and the brand that’s why I think Meghan is doing it. Her appearance could change a business,” reports the Express.
Sharing an example from her professional experience, Alexander said: “When I dressed Rebecca Adlington in a small business brand for the Olympics, the outfit sold out. To be able to do that for somebody else is the most incredible thing.”
These comments arrive as Meghan has been seen donning various oversized items from loose shirts to flowing dresses and linen attire. Notably, during an early year tour of Nigeria, she showed off a relaxed fashion sense with garments that elegantly swept the ground as she walked.
This roster of attire featured a long sleeveless gown in vivid sunshine yellow and another sleeveless dress in a soft peach hue. Meanwhile, there’s buzz about Meghan possibly collaborating with stylist Jamie Mizrahi, though this remains unconfirmed.
Martine commented, “I don’t know whether Meghan works with a stylist. If she does, the stylist may have contacted PR companies or brands directly to ask if they can borrow pieces.”
She added that the oversized look isn’t being emulated by other members of the royal family.
