In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tom Hardy expressed his willingness to don the role of Bane again for a potential DC Studios project that might pair the character with Deathstroke.

Hardy, recognized for his distinctive portrayal in ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ commented on the opportunity, stating, ‘Oh, hell yeah. I’d love to,’ but also acknowledged that his time as the character might be over, suggesting it might be time for another actor to take it on.

Hardy reminisced about the daunting task of crafting a new villain persona for Christopher Nolan’s 2012 film, especially following Heath Ledger’s memorable Joker. He faced the tough decision of adopting a ‘generic baddie voice’ or something more unique.

Hardy chose to innovate by adopting an accent inspired by Bartley Gorman, a renowned bare-knuckle fighter with Romani Gipsy, Latin roots. This choice added an unexpected depth and diversity to Bane’s character.

Despite the challenges and the risk of his voice choice being ridiculed, Hardy believed adding color to Bane’s voice matched the character’s physical and primal essence. This decision paid off, leaving a lasting impression despite initial mixed reactions to his voice’s intelligibility.

As for the new team-up movie, it remains uncertain. James Gunn recently hinted that not all planned projects in the DC Universe are set to move forward.

Whether Hardy will return to his role or if the project will use visual effects to depict Bane as the imposing figure known from the comics is yet to be determined.
