Next summer is going to be the summer of Superman, as DCU’s first live-action project, Superman, is set to release. We know a lot about the production since we followed the filming in Georgia and Ohio. Set images and videos showed a mysterious villain, and fans debated whether it was Ulysses or Ultraman.
Ultraman was hinted as the movie’s villain about six months ago, but James Gunn quickly denied this rumor, stating that the main villain of the movie is Lex Luthor.
A recently leaked listing from McFarlane Toys for the upcoming movie has revealed the true identity of the villain, and if you guessed that the villain is Ultraman, you’re right!
This list includes a variety of items, such as the “Superman Battling Kaiju” figurine, but the main spoiler is the confirmation of Ultraman’s presence, with “Baby Joe” remaining a mystery.
James Gunn is aware of this leak since fans have brought it to his attention, and he has addressed it. Regarding his earlier comments about Ultraman, it’s worth noting that Gunn didn’t completely dismiss this villain; he just emphasized that Lex Luthor would be the main antagonist.
It’s clear that whenever there’s a Superman story featuring Lex Luthor, he’s usually the one orchestrating everything behind the scenes. Ultraman will probably be the result of a failed experiment and may appear as one of the villains, but he won’t be the main threat for Clark Kent.
Gunn also mentioned that nothing from the new toy line reveals any spoilers for the movie since he has to approve all the toys being produced.
