The Kansas City Chiefs have already added Josh Uche and DeAndre Hopkins. They could look to make another big trade to stay undefeated as they go for a third straight Super Bowl.
While listing players the Chiefs could still trade for, FanSided’s Lior Lampert urged the team to swing a blockbuster trade for Los Angeles Chargers pass rusher Khalil Mack.
“Yes, the Chiefs got an edge rusher in Uche, but they only gave up a 2026 sixth-round selection to make it happen,” wrote Lampert. “Considering the minimal investment, could they return to the well and solidify their front seven even further? If so, Kansas City can look within the division for help via Los Angeles Chargers star Khalil Mack.”
Mack is an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro. He also won Defensive Player of the Year in 2016. He was a member of the All-2010s team as well. Mack had 17 sacks last year but only has 3.5 through seven games this season.
“Mack is a generational sack artist who’s aging gracefully. Coming off a career-best 17-sack campaign, he’s still generating pressure at a solid rate. The three-time All-Pro’s 91.5 overall Pro Football Focus player grade ranks third among players at his position,” wrote Lampert. “Nonetheless, the 4-3 Chargers may not have an appetite to make such a drastic shake-up.”
While he is struggling, trading Mack might not send the right message for the Chargers. Especially if they traded him to the Chiefs.
