In a heartwarming revelation, Patrick Mahomes shared that his three-year-old daughter, Sterling, has been spending quality time with none other than music superstar Taylor Swift.
During an appearance on The Drive podcast, Mahomes explained that Swift, who has been romantically linked with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has formed a special bond with little Sterling—one that extends into the kitchen.
“Sterling is a big baker as well, so they make some stuff together sometimes,” Mahomes said with a smile. “I’m not going to say I don’t eat them,” the two-time NFL MVP added, clearly enjoying the culinary treats his daughter and Swift have whipped up.
Although Mahomes, 29, admitted that Swift hasn’t baked specifically for him, he has indulged in her creations, noting, “It is as good as everybody has talked about. She is great when it comes to baking.”
While Swift is known for her homemade treats—such as Pop-Tarts and cinnamon rolls—Patrick hasn’t yet tried her famous toaster pastries. However, the quarterback has been lucky enough to sample some muffins and donuts made by the 1989 hitmaker.
Swift, 34, has seemingly found her place within the Kansas City Chiefs family, even beyond her relationship with Kelce. Britney Mahomes, Patrick’s wife and the mother of their two children, has grown close to Swift, cementing the singer’s place in the Mahomes family’s inner circle. Swift has been a frequent presence at Chiefs games, often seen cheering from the stands alongside Britney.
The bond extends beyond just the Mahomes household. Earlier in 2023, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that Swift had baked special treats for Kelce and other teammates, including homemade Pop-Tarts for the offensive linemen. “She likes to cook,” Reid said during a live stream, adding that Swift’s culinary efforts were a hit among the players, even if Reid himself didn’t get to try them.
As for Kelce, who has recently embraced new culinary experiences thanks to Swift, he praised her baking abilities, especially her cinnamon rolls. On a recent episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis opened up about how Swift has expanded his palate, which he admits was once limited. “I know my girl Tay is getting you opened up,” Jason joked, to which Travis agreed, mentioning that he’s now exploring dishes like Israeli cuisine and light curries.
Though Kelce is still adjusting to new textures and presentations of food, he’s grateful for the influence Swift has had on his diet. “The more it gets thicker and looks like baby food, the more I have an issue,” he admitted.
With Sterling Mahomes now joining Swift in the kitchen, it seems like the world of baking might have a new protege on the rise. Fans of both the NFL and Swift’s ever-expanding empire will likely keep an eye on this budding baker’s adventures in the kitchen.
