Sony’s popular series, Venom, has consistently delivered action, laughter, and suspense. As the trilogy wraps up with ‘Venom: The Last Dance’, Kelly Marcel steps up to direct the finale.
The movie picks up after ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, with Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote Venom finding themselves targeted and on the run. The film features stars like Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Stephen Graham.
In an engaging interview with Collider’s Steve Weintraub, Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel shared insights into their collaborative process on the trilogy.
They explored the balance between fan expectations and film industry realities, and they tackled the burning question: who would win in a fight between Venom and Bane?
‘I’m torn here, guys,’ Hardy admitted during the discussion. He humorously suggested that the two characters might just end up in an endless battle. Marcel, however, declared her allegiance to Venom, stating he would ‘bite his head off’.
Hardy and Marcel also reflected on the trilogy’s journey. From the unexpected success of the first film to planning the series’ progression, they’ve been deeply involved in shaping the Venom story.
They revealed that many ideas were considered but had to be dropped to fit the films’ runtime. ‘There was so much we wanted to include, but it’s impossible to fit everything into a two-hour movie,’ Hardy explained.
The duo expressed their satisfaction with the final product of ‘The Last Dance’. Marcel, in her directorial debut, felt empowered by the studio to make the movie they envisioned, free from unnecessary additions. ‘What you see on screen is exactly what we planned,’ Marcel shared proudly.
‘Venom: The Last Dance’ is set to hit theaters on October 25, promising to be a thrilling conclusion to a much-loved trilogy.
