As we approach the final episode of Agatha All Along, many mysteries have been solved, and we now know the identities of several characters that were unclear when the show first began.

One of the biggest mysteries was who Aubrey Plaza’s character, Rio Vidal, really is. Fans initially thought she might be Mephisto’s son, Blackheart, but her true identity was revealed first through a Marvel merchandise leak and then in the show itself.

Rio Vidal is actually the original Green Witch, Death. Her role in the show is still unclear, but we know she joined the coven on the Witches Road to harvest their bodies, which she mentioned in episode 4.

Rio has an interesting history with Agatha; they were once lovers but are now enemies. However, this part of their story hasn’t been explained yet. This is quite different from Death’s story in the comics.

In the comics, Lady Death is often connected to Thanos, the Mad Titan. Thanos is deeply in love with her, and his desire for her approval drives many of his actions, especially his quest for power and destruction. He believes that by killing many beings, he can prove himself worthy of her love.

Lady Death plays a key role in Thanos’s stories, influencing his actions and creating conflict. Sometimes, she even tricks him into making choices that help her, showing that she has power over him, even though he is very strong.

Thanos is officially dead in the MCU, but there are other versions of him in the Multiverse. Josh Brolin hinted that the villain might come back. Because of this, fans were hoping to see some links between him and Aubrey Plaza’s character. However, Agatha All Along showrunner Jac Schaeffer recently put an end to those speculations.

In a recent interview with Inverse, Schaeffer talked about the direction Death’s storyline might take in the MCU. She mentioned that more details would be revealed in the last two episodes of the show.

There will be a little bit more illuminating about our version of Death, but what I will say is we generally leave some of it to interpretation in this show. But you’ll get a little bit more understanding of how she operates in the last two episodes.

Schaeffer also discussed Vidal’s link to Thanos, which disappointed many fans.

Thanos is not in my show, so I can’t speak to any Thanos connections. Thanos stans out there, I have no answers for you.

Interestingly, Lady Death almost appeared in Infinity War. In the movie, Thanos goes to the realm of the dead to collect all the Infinity Stones. There, he meets Red Skull, played by Ross Marquand instead of Hugo Weaving. In this film, Red Skull serves as a guide for visitors, which is different from his role in the Captain America movie.

However, Red Skull wasn’t the first choice for this role. Another character was suggested, and many fans think that character would have fit better in the story, which left them disappointed.

Ross Marquand shared that the Russo Brothers chose not to introduce Lady Death late in the Infinity Saga. Instead, Red Skull’s cloak in the movie was a nod to Lady Death’s role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline.
