Tom Cruise is one of the biggest action stars of all time and also one of the most versatile actors of all time. And while most people will think of Top Gun or Mission: Impossible, Cruise also had some other intriguing roles such as those in Rain Man, Jerry Maguire, or Minority Report.

But, we know that if there is one project that could be called “his,” it is Mission: Impossible. Cruise has been the pillar of the lucrative franchise since 1996 and is now preparing for the release of the franchise’s eighth movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is going to be a sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

In light of that, the movie’s first trailer has just been released – and we can confirm that it is absolutely amazing. We can also confirm that the movie’s release date has been set, and it’s coming to theaters very, very soon!

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was, as you might remember, initially titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, as it was planned for the Dead Reckoning project to be a two-parter. This was changed in the course of production, especially after the initial delay of the upcoming movie, so it is now just a “regular” sequel, although it is a direct one to Dead Reckoning.

The movie was initially scheduled to be released – believe it or not – on August 5, 2022, but was delayed to November 4, 2022, July 7, 2023, and June 28, 2024, before finally setting on its current May 23, 2025 release date which, we hope, is going to be it. This has been confirmed in the recently released trailer for the upcoming movie:

As you can imagine – and fans of the franchise will know that it is true, especially with the recent installments – the trailer looks amazing, and while Tom Cruise is getting older with each movie, the movies are becoming better and more intense. As for the fan reactions, here are what the fans are saying about the trailer:

We don’t know if this movie will indeed be the end of the Mission: Impossible franchise (with or without Cruise), but it definitely seems that Cruise is giving it his all and we just hope that, whatever happens ultimately, everyone is satisfied with the movie.
