BREAKING: Chiefs Trade Pitch Lands Patrick Mahomes a $26 Million Star WR

Two of the Kansas City Chiefs‘ AFC rivals pulled off blockbuster trades on Tuesday. The Las Vegas Raiders sent Davante Adams to the New York Jets and the Cleveland Browns shipped Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills

On Monday, head coach Andy Reid suggested the Chiefs would look for outside help at receiver with Rashee Rice (knee) and Marquise Brown (shoulder) expected to miss at least a couple months due to their injuries.

Bleacher Report came up with a trade idea that would give Patrick Mahomes the juice he needs to help the Chiefs make a run for a three-peat this winter. Kansas City would pitch an offer to the Tennessee Titans for 32-year-old receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

“The Chiefs reportedly wanted DeAndre Hopkins two years ago when he was a free agent and ultimately signed with the Titans. Looking back, both parties might have regrets a deal didn’t happen. Hopkins hasn’t done much winning in Tennessee and the Chiefs are in dire need of receivers.

“It’s hard to see many AFC teams wanting to help the Chiefs in their bid for a third consecutive championship, but it also doesn’t make much sense for the Titans to hang on to the aging Hopkins when he has an expiring contract and they are rebuilding”

Hopkins signed a two-year deal worth $26 million in the 2023 offseason.

Hopkins hasn’t seen much of the ball in Tennessee this season. The three-time All-Pro has 14 receptions for 175 yards and one touchdown through the Titans’ first five games.

Things don’t seem to be going well in the locker room for the Titans, as wide receiver Calvin Ridley complained about his lack of early targets this season, following Sunday’s loss to the Colts.

Hopkins, the No. 27 pick in the 2013 draft, could be an asset with the Chiefs once he becomes familiar with Mahomes and Reid’s offense. Hopkins has 942 receptions for 12,530 yards and 79 touchdowns in his 12-year NFL career.
