The MCU’s latest hit, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, has not only smashed box office records but has also sparked discussions about its connections with ‘She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’.
Despite the film’s commercial success, critics have noted its shallow depth, while fans appreciated the humorous portrayal of Deadpool and Wolverine as they officially joined the MCU.
Intriguingly, She-Hulk, played by Tatiana Maslany, was initially part of the movie with two cameo scenes.
However, these scenes were cut after test audiences found Maslany’s performance in a fight scene with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine lacking the required intensity.
Another scene involving her character scolding Wade Wilson and Logan was also scrapped at Ryan Reynolds’ request to maintain focus on the well-loved FOX characters.
Recently, Maslany humorously addressed these cuts on ‘Comedy Bang Bang: The Podcast‘, debunking rumors about suing Disney.
She joked, ‘I was in Deadpool & Wolverine. I had two scenes in it. And then Ryan Reynolds fired me from the show because he said, ‘I don’t like these scenes.’ Now I’m suing Disney.’
She continued to tease, highlighting the irony of criticisms aimed at her for pushing a feminist agenda, which some fans linked to the failure of ‘She-Hulk’, saying, ‘That’s why they were getting rid of me because I had this woke agenda and I really wanted to bring it into the movie.’
As it stands, the future of She-Hulk in the MCU remains uncertain, especially with the original show’s struggle to draw in viewers and its high production costs, which make a second season unlikely.
