Donald Trump’s son offers clue on Prince Harry’s US visa future amid deportation row

Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, has hinted at how his father might handle Prince Harry’s US visa controversy if he wins the upcoming presidential election. The dispute over Harry’s US visa reignited last week after calls for the court battle over making his application public to be reopened due to secret submissions made by the US government.

This follows Prince Harry’s admission of past drug use in his memoir, Spare, which led to a lawsuit from the conservative think tank, Heritage Foundation, demanding the release of records about the Duke’s US visa application to verify whether his drug use was disclosed. A judge ruled that these records should remain private.

However, Donald Trump, who is running for re-election, previously suggested that Prince Harry could face deportation over the ongoing drug use controversy. In a recent interview, Eric Trump implied that Harry’s visa would be safe because “no one cares” about him and his wife Meghan is “pretty unpopular”.

Speaking to MailOnline, Eric stated: “Truthfully I don’t give a damn about Prince Harry and I don’t think this country does either. My father loved the Queen and I think the monarchy is an incredibly beautiful thing.”

He added: “‘I don’t give a damn if he did drugs. It means nothing. I can tell you that our father and our entire family has tremendous respect for the monarchy.”, reports the Mirror.

In another part of the interview, he expressed his concern for Harry, stating that he seemed to have “gone off the deep end and it’s sad to watch”. However, he had words of praise for Prince William and his wife Kate, describing her as “such a rock in the next generation of the family”.

This comes a week after the Heritage Foundation filed another court document claiming they were denied access to private submissions made to the judge by the Biden administration. The 13-page motion was submitted last Tuesday, describing the case as ‘unique’ and complex, but also suggesting there is “ample evidence of agency bad faith”, which significantly hinders [Heritage’s] ability to prepare arguments on appeal”. The lawsuit was initially filed by the Heritage Foundation after their Freedom of Information request for the Duke’s records was turned down by the Department for Homeland Security (DHS). In his explosive memoir, Harry admitted that cocaine “didn’t do anything for me”, but added: “Marijuana is different, that actually really did help me.

He also shared an experience with magic mushrooms, recounting: “I stared at the bin. It stared back. What-staring? Then it became… a head. I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin.”

During a virtual conversation with trauma specialist Gabor Mate, Prince Harry opened up about his experiences with psychedelics, saying: “It was the cleaning of the windscreen, the removal of life’s filters – these layers of filters.”

It removed it all for me and brought me a sense of relaxation, relief, comfort, a lightness that I managed to hold back for a period of time. ” He highlighted how US visa forms directly question applicants about their drug history, which can negatively affect their application process.

Notably, extensive drug use can result in visa denials, but immigration officials weigh this against various factors at their discretion.
