One of the most exciting upcoming Star Wars releases is Andor season 2, which will also be the final season of the show. Gilroy explained that the original plan was for five seasons, but it was considered “physically impossible” because of the show’s scale. So, they decided to wrap it up with one more season that leads directly into Rogue One.

The production of the second season was complicated due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Filming originally finished in February, but additional reshoots were needed afterward.

The upcoming season will cover four years, with a one-year time jump every three episodes. It will star Ben Mendelsohn as Director Krennic, Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, and Alan Tudyk returning as K-2SO. The series is set to release in 2025.

At this year’s D23 event in Brazil, fans saw what seemed to be the first promotional materials for the show. There weren’t major reveals, just a few displays, including one showing Diego Luna as Cassian Andor in a new outfit.

We can still hope for a teaser trailer at the event that gives more details about the show and a clearer release date. During this year’s D23 event in Anaheim, Luna talked about the show:

‘Rogue One changed my life. I’ve lived with Cassian Andor for 10 years now. Being able to complete this story that starts with Season 1 to Rogue One, is great. In the first season, we go through a single year. He lives under the rule of the empire. Got a taste of courage. […]

This second part of the story will follow Cassian over a four-year period as he grows into the rebel hero we know in Rogue one. In this season, the stakes are greater, enemies more organized, and clock is ticking. Empire threat grows, Andor has a high purpose, freedom and a better tomorrow.
