Agatha All Along wrapped up last week with its final two episodes. While most of the mysteries were solved, some were made more complicated, possibly setting up future stories in the MCU.

One of the biggest questions was about Wanda’s second twin, Tommy Maximoff. While Billy was able to return to the body of Billy Kaplan, Tommy didn’t get the same chance.

Billy sets off on the Witches Road to find his brother, saying he can feel him nearby. However, it seems Tommy’s soul is in another place, separate from his body. In Episode 8, Agatha helps Billy focus and find his brother’s soul in the “Void.”

Billy then sees a vision of a boy, a victim of a prank who is about to drown, and directs Tommy’s soul into that boy’s body. Agatha confirms that the boy didn’t die because Billy needed his body, saying, “sometimes little boys just die.”

We know Tommy is out there, but we don’t know where. Recent rumors suggest that finding him will be the main focus of the upcoming solo Wiccan show, where Billy will search for his brother in the real world.

The Agatha All Along showrunner recently talked about Tommy’s resurrection and hinted that it might be explored more in future stories.

The intention is that, yes, he got what he was missing in that he successfully put Tommy’s soul into a body of that young man who was the victim of a teen prank. You know how these things go, and we’ll see in future properties if they stick to that narrative.

Schaeffer explained that filming the resurrection scene was challenging because Tommy had not been cast yet, so they had to shoot it in a way that kept his identity a secret. When asked if Tommy has been cast now, she jokingly said she didn’t know anything about it.

We loved the idea that Agatha would fully step into her mentor role in her nasty, nasty way, and that she would help Billy harness one of his biggest powers: to bring his brother back. It was a tricky thing to shoot because Tommy was not cast at that time, and so we had to shoot it in an obscure way.

I know nothing. I literally know nothing. At the time of making Agatha All Along, there was not a Tommy.

She also pointed out the difference between Billy’s actions, which are driven by love, and Agatha’s cold, harsh approach, something the writers found both interesting and unsettling.

Although Schaeffer isn’t sure when or where Agatha, Billy, and Tommy’s story will continue, she hinted that their journey will probably appear again in the MCU, though she’s not sure about the details, especially with the upcoming Vision show.

Everyone in the [writers’] room just loved that there was something kind of terrifying about it, that it was something done on Billy’s side out of love, but that Agatha was all fingernails and meanness

I can’t speak to the direct handoff to the Vision show. But I think that people are meant to expect more of Billy and Agatha somewhere in the MCU. I don’t know what’s going on with that show, and I just wish them well. I love Paul Bettany so deeply, and I can’t wait to see what they do.
