The next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, is set to release on May 7, 2027. While not much about the plot has been officially confirmed, leaks and rumors have given fans some hints—though they’re not verified. One big reveal is that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU, but not as Iron Man. Instead, he’ll play Doctor Doom, joking that it’s just a “different mask, same task.”

From what we know through these rumors, the movie might adapt the “Time Runs Out” storyline, with new twists tailored for the MCU.

Many characters are rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, including Deadpool and Wolverine. Since they officially joined the MCU in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been eager to see them in as many projects as possible.

Wolverine could fit into a wide range of storylines, but the same can’t really be said for Deadpool.

Recently, Ryan Reynolds was asked about the Avengers rumors and his possible role in Doomsday. His response? He doesn’t even know when Deadpool will show up next.

I’m not even being cagey. We’ll see what happens there.

It might make more sense for Deadpool to show up in Secret Wars, especially since Jackman’s Wolverine is rumored to have a “bigger” role in that movie. But with over 50 characters rumored to appear, it’s hard to tell which reports are real and which are just speculation.
