The MCU is in an incredibly exciting phase right now. ‘Agatha All Along’ is airing new episodes weekly, and we’ve just seen the first billion-dollar hit in a while with ‘Deadpool & Wolverine.’
Looking ahead, 2025, 2026, and even 2027 are packed with highly anticipated projects, but none are as thrilling as the two upcoming ‘Avengers’ films.
‘Doomsday’ is poised to reintroduce Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU, but this time as Doctor Doom. Meanwhile, ‘Secret Wars’ is rumored to be an epic multiversal crossover, bringing together current Marvel live-action characters with iconic legacy figures from before the MCU era.
According to industry insider MyTimeToShineHello, Patrick Stewart is just one of many rumored actors “confirmed” to reprise his iconic role.
As you may recall, Professor X was killed by Scarlet Witch in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ If Patrick Stewart does return, it would likely be as a variant of the character. The MCU has already explored this concept with characters like Gamora and Loki, who came back through variants after their deaths.
However, it’s important to take this rumor with a grain of salt. Stewart reportedly had a less-than-ideal experience filming ‘Doctor Strange,’ so it’s unclear whether he’d be open to returning. Additionally, Stewart was “confirmed” for an appearance in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ a detail backed by industry trades, yet his character ultimately didn’t show up—though he was heavily referenced.
