Now that Amazon's October Prime Day sale has come and gone, it seems like every big retailer is hosting a competing sale of their own. And while some of the best October deals at Amazon are still available, others have now ended. If you missed some Prime specific deals on Oct 8-9, know there are some great savings to be had elsewhere too. Some of these discounts will even outlast Amazon's sale.
To help you navigate the expanse of fall sales happening elsewhere, we've gathered together a list of the very best Prime Day alternatives below. Each of these sales are offering some sort of two-day or week-long sale to compete with Amazon's Big Deal Days discounts in October 2024. If you're hoping to shop outside of Amazon this October, (AKA shop "anti-Prime Day sales"), you have plenty of options.
The Best Alternative Prime Day Sales Today
The most Amazon-like Prime Day sales from this list are Target Circle Week, Walmart Deals, and the Best Buy 48-hour sale. When Do October Prime Day Sales End?
Amazon's October Prime Day sale officially ended Oct 9th, but some of these sales will actually outlast Amazon. Here's a quick rundown of what sales you can still shop after Prime Big Deal Days officially ends:
- Target Circle Week – Ends October 12
- Walmart Deals – Ends October 13
- FlexiSpot – Ends October 16
While these sales will last through the end of the week, not all of the deals will be as good as they are right now. Target runs a new deal of the day each day that is only available for 24 hours, and Walmart will likely only price match some of Amazon's prices through Oct 9. The ideal window for finding discounts is coming to a close as of October 9.

Should You Shop October Sales Now or Wait For Black Friday?
It's worth noting that while October Prime Day isn't quite as good as Black Friday in terms of overall discounts, it's still a great time to find discounts on gifts for yourself and others. Many of the deals we are seeing in October are on groceries, home goods, fall clothing, and LEGO sets that are more targeted at purchasing now rather than in November. And while there are some surprisingly good TV deals and discounts on iPads, many of those larger purchases can still probably wait until Black Friday 2024 at lower prices.
All-in-all, if you see a discount you like on something you need right now, it's a great time to shop. There's no harm in browsing these discounts today and you can feel comfortable making smaller purchases ahead of Black Friday season. If you'd prefer to wait, you can also check out our guide to upcoming sales events to see when you can start shopping holiday deals.
