Aya Cash Comments on the Upcoming 'Vought Rising' Prequel Series: "[It's] absolutely insanely good."

The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world. The series recently concluded its fourth season on July 18, 2024, and is preparing the groundwork for its fifth and final season.

As you might remember, despite some backlash from the so-called “fans,” the season was Certified Fresh, and the viewership figures proved it was a huge success, even surpassing Season 3.

But, even though the main series is slowly approaching its end, The Boys brand is growing, and more new projects will be released in the future as part of a larger franchise. One of the major projects that will be part of The Franchise is the prequel series Vought Rising, work on which has already begun.

As you might recall, Aya Cash’s Stormfront and Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy will return to this series, which will chronicle the beginnings of Vought International and explore the evolution of supes in modern America. Aya Cash recently revealed some information about the series to ComicBook.com, and if she is to be believed, we’re in for a treat.

In case you’ve missed our earlier reports, Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash have been confirmed to return as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, while the showrunner of the series will be Paul Grellong, who also revealed the following info about the series:

We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of ‘The Boys.’ It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.

We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.

Now, the project is still a big mystery in many ways, but Aya Cash recently teased that the series is going to be fantastic. This happened in an interview for ComicBook.com, and while she did not reveal much, she said the following:

“No, we don’t actually know yet. I’ve read two scripts and they’re absolutely insanely good. But that’s about all I can tell you.”

As said, it’s not much, but this is an indication that Vought Rising will follow in the same path as The Boys, and that definitely cannot be a bad thing, especially when you consider the general plot outline we have and the fact that two fan-favorite characters will be returning to the series, which is absolutely amazing and has us looking forward to the project.
