Morocco's Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has won the most seats in the country's parliamentary election, securing 97 of the 395 seats in the House of Representatives. The final results were announced by the Ministry of Interior on Friday, September 26, 2026.
The party, founded by a royal adviser close to King Mohammed VI, fell short of the 198 seats needed for an outright majority. Consequently, PAM will need to negotiate with other parties to form a governing coalition.
Despite the win, PAM's share of seats represents a significant drop from its previous standing, having lost significant ground to its coalition partner, the National Rally of Independents (RNI).
Rival Party Makes a Comeback
The Justice and Development Party (PJD), a moderate Islamist party that previously led the government, staged a striking comeback in this election. The party quadrupled its seats to 54, a significant increase from its previous total of 13.
